About Ben
I am currently entering my third year as a Mathematics student at the University of Warwick. I have loved maths since I was young and I achieved Grade 9s in both Mathematics and Further Mathematics at GCSE and A*s in both at A-level scoring over 94% in each subject.
Whilst in Sixth Form, I tutored three students at Year 8 and GCSE level. This gave me experience explaining mathematical ideas clearly, identifying where students were getting stuck and adapting my teaching to different levels of confidence and ability.
Studying Maths at University has deepened both my understanding of the subject and my enjoyment of it. I hope to pass some of that enthusiasm on to my students and help them see that maths does not have to feel intimidating or frustrating. Especially for those who do not naturally enjoy the subject, I aim to make it feel more manageable and logical. My university studies also allow me to explain ideas with a stronger understanding of the underlying mathematics, rather than relying only on memorised methods - enabling me to provide many different approaches to each topic.
Since I only completed GCSEs and A-levels relatively recently, I understand the demands of the courses and the types of questions students are likely to face in exams.

My lessons are for KS3, GCSE, and A-Level Mathematics, as well as GCSE and A-level Further Maths. They are tailored to the student's level, goals, and areas of difficulty.
Lessons can include clear explanations of current topics they are learning, many practice questions, homework support, past papers and exam-style questions, exam technique and methods, and preparation for assessments.
The main aim of lessons is not to just help your child memorise the many formulae in their course, but help them develop an understanding of the topic and how to recognise it in an exam. We will break topics down into clear, manageable steps before building up to solving practice/homework questions independently and moving onto exam style questions, providing guidance where needed.
I am patient and approachable and am happy to adapt explanations and find the method that makes the most sense to you.
Lessons (typically an hour) are available online or in person (location dependent).
