Precision Academic Tutoring, founded in 2012 and based in New York, NY, provides academic coaching, college admissions counseling, standardized test preparation, and subject tutoring. Led by founder Michael Hirsch—a Stanford honors graduate and former Oxford University writing student with more than 15 years of experience—the practice supports students through undergraduate, transfer, and graduate school applications, including program research, college list strategy, essay development, and interview preparation. The team offers test preparation for the SAT, ACT, high school entrance exams, and TOEFL, as well as tutoring across AP Humanities and STEM subjects and general homework coaching. Each student receives a customized academic plan, one-on-one sessions with the founder and his Ivy League-educated team, and flexible scheduling with hourly options. Reported outcomes include 88% of students accepted to one of their Early or top-choice schools, an average SAT score increase of 285 points (7-point average ACT increase), and 96% of students earning a 4 or 5 on an AP exam.
