About
Welcome! Whether you're picking up the violin for the first time, preparing for an audition, or simply looking to deepen your enjoyment of music, I'd love to help you reach your goals.
I hold Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Violin Performance from Northwestern University and perform professionally with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, the Milwaukee Symphony, and other ensembles throughout the Midwest. I’ve trained in violin pedagogy with Stacia Spencer and Suzuki pedagogy with Ann Montzka Smelser and Avi Friedlander.
I work with students of all ages and experience levels, from complete beginners to advanced high school musicians preparing for orchestra auditions and competitions. My teaching combines a strong foundation in technique with an emphasis on musical expression and enjoyment. I want my students to feel both challenged and inspired, so I tailor lessons to each student's individual goals, interests, and learning style.
As a performer, I understand the discipline and persistence that violin study requires. As a teacher, I strive to create a supportive environment where students can develop strong fundamentals, confidence, and joy in playing the violin.
I primarily offer in-home lessons throughout the Evanston and North Shore area. Online lessons may also be available for intermediate and advanced students.
I offer a free introductory consultation so we can get to know each other, discuss your goals, and determine whether we're a good fit. I look forward to meeting you!
