About Lachlan
I am studying a double honours degree in Aerospace Engineering and Advanced Physics at UNSW in Sydney. I have been tutoring and teaching professionally for 3 years now as a high school tutor and first year physics teaching assistant.
In the last two years I have taken 4 students through their final HSC exams in Maths and Physics and plan to take two more this year.
At UNSW, I have been teaching the four first year courses offered there for the last two years as a duty tutor, laboratory demonstrator and teaching assistant.
I was on the Dean's Honours List 2019 at university and attained an ATAR of 98.25 in the 2017 HSC. Though the syllabus has since changed, I have remained up to date with the new curriculum.

I generally approach teaching differently depending on the student. Sometimes homework help and a boost in confidence is all that is required, while other times I work together to devise a long-term, detailed work strategy we both think will work.
Lessons will usually begin by addressing glaring concerns of the students. Whether it be an assignment, an impossible homework task or exam notifications, we work through a plan for it, breaking it down into manageable chunks together, an important skill in any further studies. I then cover the last weeks content, to check that is sank in and make sure some practise questions are attempted. Finally, we will examine the next week's work, determining what the student might find challenging and getting a jump-start on the week.
As I am usually employed by parents of students I like to keep them updated as much as possible. Knowing you're getting your money's worth is important and I take parent concerns into consideration when organising lesson plans.
