About Julia
Hi! I'm a fourth-year Biomedical Engineering student at the University of Waterloo. Outside the classroom, I'm a varsity athlete, work in biomechanics and orthotics design, and enjoy taking on leadership roles within the Waterloo community.
I believe that success comes from consistency, curiosity, and confidence. These values have helped me balance a demanding engineering program, competitive athletics, research, and leadership opportunities, and they're the same principles I bring to every tutoring session.
I genuinely enjoy helping students discover that they're capable of more than they think. My goal is to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, learning from mistakes, and building confidence in their abilities. Whether a student needs help catching up, preparing for a test, or getting ahead, I'm committed to helping them reach their goals while making learning an enjoyable experience.

As a 4th-year Biomedical Engineering student at the University of Waterloo with a 4.0 GPA and over four years of tutoring experience, I help students in Grades 6–10 build confidence and achieve success in math and science.
I believe every student can succeed with the right guidance. My lessons are tailored to each student's learning style, pace, and goals. Whether we're reviewing classroom material, preparing for a test, or getting ahead of the curriculum, I focus on building a strong understanding of the concepts rather than memorizing formulas.
Each lesson begins by identifying areas where the student needs the most support. From there, I explain concepts in a clear, engaging way using examples and guided practice before having students solve problems independently. I also teach effective study habits and problem-solving strategies that help students become more confident and independent learners.
I strive to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to help students develop lasting confidence in their abilities and enjoy learning.
