About Lydia
This year I was employed by McMaster as a teaching assistant so I taught the Material Science labs in the 1st year engineering course. Prior, I tutored high school math and 2nd year mass transfer. I've also taught swimming lessons, and numerous water sports. I have my Swim Instructors and Lifesaving Instructors certifications so am well acquainted with teaching pedagogy (i.e. how to teach).
In terms of technical skills I've achieved Honours distinction for years. I also achieved top mark awards in a few high school and university courses.
Generally though, I am super friendly and love helping my classmates and anyone around me with their school work whenever I can. I've been embarrassed to ask for help before so I am super patient and never judge someone when I'm helping them. I want them to have the lightbulb moment and understand what they are learning! I won't give you the answers to assignments and such but I will ask questions and provide explanations so you get to do the thinking and really learn the content for yourself while having guidance when stuck.

With a multitude of teaching experience across different disciplines and skill levels I am very good at teaching, explaining, elaborating and rounding out your knowledge so you have the "aha" moment and fully grasp what is being taught in school.
I am extremely flexible so can adapt to what would be most helpful for you. For example, re-expaining lesson notes, providing supporting lessons and practice to school curriculum, assistance in exam prep and the likes.
I've often been complimented for my analogies and ability to explain things is drastically different ways so it clicks with my students learning style.
I am comfortable teaching all ages/levels up until 1st/2nd year university (depending on the program).
