About Moru
I am a 4th year student at McGill University studying IT and Business. I have always loved math and took multiple finance classes during my Bachelor's at McGill. My lowest grade was an A-. My previous work experience was at IBM, a top investment bank (Morgan Stanley) and the Canada Revenue Agency so I have professional experience in financial institutions which require a strong foundation in math concepts. In my free time, I help my 9-year-old brother with his math problems and help him study for his exams. Since I began helping him, his grades have improved a lot!

For my teaching methods, I like to mix both theory and practice. I can teach math to students from primary school up until high school because I am very comfortable with the materials taught in those academic years. What sets me apart is I like to make my lessons fun, through not only textbook material but also scenarios, examples, news, and many more activities to bring a practical side to what we learn during our sessions. I am able to take complex concepts and break them down into smaller, more digestible pieces and provide real-life examples to facilitate comprehension. I can also explain a concept in different ways through strategies that I have developed during my time as a tutor for underprivileged students and my little brother. I I am very outgoing and non-judgemental, so I want to create a safe space for all my students.
