About Matthew
I am currently a 4th year Mechanical Engineering student at Newcastle University doing a Master's degree (a course built almost entirely on advanced physics and maths). For my A-Levels I achieved A*, A, B in Physics, Biology and Psychology. I have experience teaching tricky concepts to others and have a robust baseline knowledge of all things maths, physics and science. I have sat over 30 exams in my time as a student and know exactly what examiners look for.

I help GCSE and A-Level physics and maths students go from dreading exams to walking into the exam hall confident! I give them the tools and skills to tackle all levels of problems and provide personalised advice catered to each individual.

My lessons aren't about making you feel silly for not getting it yet. We start with where you are already, figure out exactly what's tripping you up, and build your skills and knowledge from the ground up. I focus heavily on exam technique — identifying types of problems and giving you a clear method for solving each one. This gives you the toolset to get marks consistently.
Sessions are relaxed but focused: you'll ask the "stupid" questions you've been too nervous to ask in class, and we'll work through real past-paper problems together using the 'STEP-BY-STEP' method until the format stops being scary. You'll leave each lesson knowing precisely what to practise before the next. I'm patient, I don't rush, and my whole aim is to get you to the point where you don't need me anymore. And if you're worried about fitting this in around everything else, sessions are flexible and built around what you actually need, so no time gets wasted!
Message me for a free consultation chat to see if we're a good fit and how I can help you get the grades you want.
