About Ali

Hi! I’m a medical student with a passion for science and helping others achieve their goals.

Having gone through GCSEs myself and progressed through further study into medicine, I understand how challenging exams can feel. I was fortunate to have some fantastic tutors throughout my own education who helped me massively, not only with understanding difficult topics but also with building the confidence to believe I could achieve my goals.

Those experiences are a big reason why I wanted to start tutoring. I’d love to pass that support forward and be the person who helps another student have that same breakthrough - whether that’s finally understanding a difficult topic, improving their grades or simply feeling more confident going into an exam.

I want my lessons to be friendly, encouraging and focused on progress. Students should feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning at their own pace, without feeling judged.

About the lesson

My goal is simple: to help you improve your GCSE grades while building the confidence to tackle questions independently.

I understand that GCSE Maths, Biology and Chemistry can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re struggling with certain topics or unsure how to approach exam questions. My tutoring focuses on making difficult concepts easier to understand and giving you the skills to turn that understanding into marks.

Every lesson is tailored to your individual needs. We’ll identify the topics you find most difficult, break them down into simple steps, and then practise applying them through GCSE-style questions. As you improve, we’ll gradually focus on more challenging questions to help you reach your target grade.

A key part of my teaching is exam technique. I’ll help you understand exactly what examiners are looking for, how to structure your answers, how to approach different question types and how to avoid common mistakes that can cost you marks.

I also want you to feel comfortable asking questions. There are no silly questions, and if something doesn’t make sense the first time, we’ll approach it differently until it does.

Whether you’re currently struggling to pass, aiming to move from a 5 to a 7, or pushing towards an 8 or 9, I’ll work with you to identify what is holding you back and create a clear plan for improvement.

Most importantly, I want you to leave each lesson feeling that you understand more, feel more confident and know exactly how to improve.
