About Phoebe
Hi, my name is Phoebe and I’m a friendly and enthusiastic 4th year medical student with a strong passion for Biology and teaching. I have previous experience tutoring GCSE Ancient Greek and coaching hockey, which has helped me develop a patient, adaptable and encouraging approach to teaching.
I understand that GCSE Biology can feel overwhelming, so I aim to make lessons clear, engaging and tailored to each student. Whether you’re struggling with a particular topic, looking to improve your exam technique or working towards a specific grade, I can help you build both your knowledge and confidence.
As a medical student, I also enjoy bringing Biology to life through real-world examples from medicine and healthcare. Alongside my studies, I am a Welfare Secretary at medical school, further developing my communication and interpersonal skills.
My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, learning from mistakes and becoming confident, independent learners.

I teach by following the syllabus closely to help students understand how to get the most marks possible within their answers and what the exam boards are really looking for in the mark scheme. I like to tailor my teaching approach to each student as an individual as everyone learns differently; however, lessons would follow a learning knowledge section and then active application of knowledge to practice questions.
The typical length of a lesson would be between 45 mins - 1 hour based on the student's need.
Lessons are directed from common entrance level through to GCSE, including school end-of-year examinations for years 7-10.
I am a 4th year medical student at the University of Exeter currently on clinical placement before sitting my final exams next year. I have completed my GCSE biology and A-level at a grade 9 and A* level respectively.
