About Nevin

My tutoring career began quite unexpectedly. In the subsequent summer after completing my GCSE exams, I was asked by a family friend to tutor their son who was in the early stages of preparing for their GCSE exams. It was through this experience that I developed a sudden passion for teaching. Being able to ignite and nurture a student's inherent curiosity for learning while helping them to achieve their academic goals made me realise that this was a vocation that I wanted to pursue beyond this temporary arrangement.

As a result, I began tutoring on a part-time basis through my A-Levels and continued to do so through my time at medical school.

In this time, I have been able to build a substantial client base that includes exclusive tutoring contracts with secondary schools and sixth forms in England, high schools in the United States of America and many private clients across the UK.

Knowing that I have had a lasting impact on my student’s lives has given me an exceptional amount of satisfaction and I hope that I can continue to help more students develop a long-lasting passion for learning.

About the lesson

- A strong believer in taking a patient and practical approach when teaching. Everyone learns in different ways and so it is my responsibility to adapt my lessons and tailor them to each of my student's needs.

However, what remains consistent in my lessons are the goals that need to be met. These include:
1. Fostering a renewed passion for learning.
2. Ignite and nurture a student's inherent curiosity for learning.
3. Enhance learners' self-confidence, self-esteem and belief in their academic abilities.
4. Cultivate heightened engagement, ultimately resulting in improved attendance, attainment and personal growth and development.
5. Facilitate a positive and supportive online learning environment.
6. Learners establish a sense of security through their relationships with the teacher.

- The length of each lesson can vary depending on the needs of the student. Typically GCSE lessons are 1 hour, A-Level lessons are 2 hours.

- Have been providing science and maths tutoring to school students for 5 years. Taught from KS2 to A-Level. From 2022 to 2024 I have been exclusively tutoring GCSE and A-Level students across the UK as part of the government-funded National Tutoring Programme.

- As a medical student, I am surrounded by the natural sciences and as such have developed a strong passion for these subjects. I hope to share this same passion with my future students.

- My lessons are aimed at GCSE and A-Level students of all ages.
