About Toby
I have had experience tutoring for four years at a learning centre, teaching students maths from the age of four up to eighteen. This means I am comfortable communicating with younger pupils as well as delivering more complex material to older students.
Academically, I obtained two A*s in maths and physics and an A in further maths. I am currently predicted a 1st in my Mphys degree at the University of Manchester.

I am able to give lessons to all ages of students at abilities up to A-level in maths and degree level in physics.
In my lessons I focus on both full understanding of the subject matter and on developing problem solving skills. In my experience I have found that these are the two most fundamental aspects in improving a students confidence and ability to learn independently.
To develop these skills I always make sure I stretch their understanding by asking questions outside of their comfort zone, force them to attempt each new topic or problem without any help from me (unless necessary) and at the end of each lesson I will always get them to teach me the content covered that day.
