I have had 10 years of experiencing teaching math to students in grades 1, 3, and 5. I have tutored students across all elementary grade levels with varying skills and understanding.
In the time I spend with each child, we focus on the highest need. For many students, this involves number sense - skills that allow us to work with, manipulate, relate, and connect numbers. For others, it may involve backfilling pre-requisite skills that the child has not yet mastered, or looking ahead to introduce new skills and concepts to continue challenging the child.
I have a passion for working with kids, and work hard to make my tutoring sessions fun, engaging, and worthwhile! I put a strong emphasis on connecting content to real-life situations to make learning more relatable and interesting for students.
