About Madeleine
I am an aspiring high school biology teacher with a passion for both academics and the outdoors. I enjoy climbing, mountain biking, and hiking, and I bring the same dedication and perseverance from these activities into my teaching. I have previous experience tutoring math and a strong academic background in biology, chemistry, and related sciences. I love to learn and to share that love of learning with others. My approach is supportive, patient, and adaptable to each student’s needs, helping them build confidence and truly understand the material. I am committed to helping students not only succeed but excel.

I am an undergraduate biology major at Cal Poly who offers tutoring for younger kids, high schoolers, and college students in biology, chemistry, and math. While I am still developing formal lesson planning skills, I use a clear, supportive approach that builds understanding step-by-step. Drawing from my experience as a climbing coach—where I have seen significant growth in my athletes—I emphasize patience, encouragement, and adapting explanations to each learner’s style. Lessons typically begin with a quick review, followed by guided problem-solving and discussion to reinforce concepts. My combination of subject expertise and coaching experience sets me apart as a relatable, motivating tutor.
