About Harkirat
Hello, my name is Harkirat Dhaliwal, and I am currently a 5th year medical student at the University College London (UCL), one of the leading medical schools in the world. Although, I may be in my clinical years, I have not forgotten the stress and turmoil the application process to get into medical school has while simultaneously having to study for A-level exams, and that is why I am extremely keen to help strengthen the applications of budding medics who are in the same position I was in all those years ago. Furthermore, I am also aware that students often find A-Level biology one of the more difficult subjects, which is why I am also offering my assistance in tutoring A-Level biology this is one of the essential A-Levels when applying to medical school. I applied in 2019 and received offers off all the medical schools I applied to including Bristol, Sheffield and of course UCL. Therefore, I have the knowledge to improve a multitude of areas for medical students including: - Multiple Mini Interview Practice - Traditional Interview Practice - Personal Statement adjustments - BMAT and UCAT assistance The medical school application process is a very difficult process, but it does not have to be and can be made a lot easier with the help of a medical school tutor. My approach is to tackle the hardest aspects of the process whether that be A-Level biology or the medical school application process, and to ensure that as a tutor, I am not just repeating the same information that teachers advise without actually having gone through the process itself. I know the tips and tricks to get through the process, as well as what areas are high yield and bring about the most success when taught well. Typical lessons will last an hour and each lesson will focus on what the student needs to improve upon the most, which essentially will be working towards the targets that me and the student set out from the very first lesson. This will involve practising interview techniques, BMAT and UCAT exam practice and personal statement improvements. I have taught various levels of sciences at medical school to help other students. My lessons are for anyone who is applying to medical school and would like help in cementing their place in medical school for the following academic year.
