About Kaylee
I am a certified and experienced 8th grade science teacher with a passion for helping students feel confident in their ability to learn. With hands-on experience teaching students with a wide range of learning styles and academic abilities, I know that sometimes students simply need concepts explained in a different way.
I take pride in creating a supportive, patient, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them develop the confidence and skills they need to become independent learners.
Whether your student needs help understanding a difficult science concept, preparing for a test, completing an assignment, or strengthening foundational skills, I will meet them where they are and work with them at their own pace.
I bring real classroom experience, professionalism, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed. I look forward to helping your student discover that science can be understandable, engaging, and even fun!

As an experienced 8th grade science teacher, I believe students learn best when lessons are personalized, engaging, and connected to real-world examples. My goal is to make difficult science concepts feel simple, understandable, and relevant while building students’ confidence along the way.
My tutoring approach begins by identifying what the student already understands and where they are struggling. From there, I adjust my teaching style to meet their individual needs. I use clear explanations, visual examples, diagrams, guided practice, questioning, and real-world connections to help students truly understand a concept rather than simply memorize an answer.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review or warm-up to identify areas that need attention. I then introduce or explain the concept using student-friendly language and visuals. We work through examples together, allowing me to check understanding and correct misconceptions. Students then practice independently or with guidance before we finish with a short review or exit question to make sure they are confident with the material.
What sets me apart is my experience working with students at a variety of academic levels in a real classroom setting. I understand that every student learns differently, and I am comfortable breaking complicated concepts into smaller, manageable steps. I also strive to create a positive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
I primarily tutor middle school students, particularly students in grades 6–8, in science. I can provide support with general science, life science, physical science, Earth and space science, biology foundations, test preparation, homework, studying, and understanding difficult classroom concepts. I am also happy to work with students who need additional support, more individualized instruction, or a different explanation than they received in class.
