About Abhishek
I am Abhishek Banerji, a sarod player trained in the Senia-Maihar tradition. Over the years I have performed as a solo artist and worked in studios, experiences that taught me how music can be both personal and collaborative. I also teach sarod, helping students really feel the music, explore its melodies, and express themselves naturally on the instrument.

Lessons are progressive, tailored to each students pace, and focus on building rhythm, melody, and expression.
I provide guidance, practice exercises, and feedback to help students grow confidently while enjoying the learning process.
Overall focus is on the following:
Fundamentals: Getting accustomed with instrument while learning the basics of melody and rhythm.
Coordination: Exercises combining melody and rhythm with emphasis on technique.
Raga : Journey into the foundation of ICM, exploring their structure, emotion, and expressions.
Performance preparation: Gradually building confidence with small solo pieces and structured improvisation.
Continued development: Expanding repertoire, deepening understanding of ragas, and refining improvisational expression.
