About Garrett
I grew up in Washington state and started my music journey learning piano as a kid. In my teens I taught myself how to use Ableton to make hip hop and experimental beats. As I got older, I discovered and started getting interested in dance music. I've produced almost daily for the last 10 years, I've released on some record labels, and have played plenty DJ sets, and a few Ableton Live sets. Currently, I focus on various styles of electronic music such as house, and techno music, but my experience goes beyond. I’m a huge music nerd and curious person. I love learning new things, and jamming and tinkering with hardware and software synths, and effects. using both hardware drum machines, synths, and Ableton Live.

If you're looking to get started making music, or are already making music but want to finish it or make it better, welcome! I've been making electronic music for the past 12 years on a pretty consistent basis so you'll be in good hands. I specialize in electronic, house, techno, and bass music genres but I've also made plenty of other styles over the years. I can teach you the general "rules" of working with audio, and also how to break them. Lessons are tailored to what you want to learn, which we can discuss in a call or over chat.
In addition to ableton I am proficient with most elektron devices (Digitakt, syntakt, octatrack) and offer lessons with those.
If you’re looking to build a live site working with instruments, pedals, etc with Ableton live I can help with that too.
Here are some things I can teach you:
• Composing in Ableton Live: Structure tracks and bring compositions to life.
• Creative Sound Design: Create unique sounds and textures using software instruments
• Sampling: Learn how to find quality samples, and manipulate/chop/resample them to create unique sounds
• Mixing and Mastering: Polish tracks for a professional sound.
• Live Synth and Midi controller Integration: Learn how to integrate software and hardware synths, sequencers and midi with Ableton Live.
• Building a live set: Learn how to use Ableton Live to DJ or perform your music live
• Idea generation and techniques for finishing songs
Lessons can be taught in my home studio, your home, online, or in a professional recording studio I rent out on Thursday and Saturday evenings.
