Hi! My name is Melissa Cano. I’m a dedicated student on the pre-med track, graduating in 2025 with both my high school diploma and an associate degree. I have a strong passion for science, especially human biology and anatomy, and I’m working toward a future career in medicine. I currently work in retail, where I’ve gained great experience in communication, responsibility, and helping people—all skills I bring into my tutoring. I love making complex topics feel simple and fun, and I’m all about helping students feel confident and excited about learning.

For my human biology and anatomy tutoring session, I’ll start with a quick warm-up to get the student thinking about how the body works as a whole. Then, I’ll introduce the difference between anatomy and physiology and explain the levels of organization in the human body. We’ll go over the 11 major body systems, using a diagram to identify key organs and their functions. I’ll focus in on one or two systems, like the digestive and nervous systems, to explore in more detail with visuals and real-life examples. The lesson ends with a quick review activity where the student labels a blank diagram to reinforce what they’ve learned.
