About Pranav
About me:
I am currently completing an MSc in Economics and Data Science at the University of Warwick, where I am predicted a Distinction. I hold a BSc in Economics from the University of Manchester, where I consistently achieved some of my strongest results in quantitative and mathematical modules, including an 88% in Computing for Social Scientists and 70% in Econometrics. Mathematics has been at the core of my academic work throughout, and I apply it daily in research involving statistical modelling, data analysis, and causal inference.
As a tutor, I bring the same rigour and attention to detail to my teaching that I apply to my own academic work. My previous student sat their A-level Probability and Statistics paper having covered the full syllabus with me over the summer, and achieved a grade A. I take that result seriously and hold myself to the same standard with every student I work with.
I am patient, well-organised, and committed to making sure every student leaves each session with a clear understanding of what was covered. I believe that confidence in mathematics comes from understanding, not memorisation, and that is the principle that guides every lesson I deliver.

My approach:
I begin each engagement by assessing the student's current understanding and identifying specific gaps, before building a structured lesson plan that works systematically through the syllabus. Rather than teaching to the test, I focus on building genuine conceptual understanding first, so that exam technique follows naturally.
Lessons typically last one hour and follow a consistent structure: a short review of the previous session, introduction and explanation of new material, worked examples together, and then independent practice with guidance. I adapt the pace and style to the individual student, spending more time on areas where they need it most and moving quickly through content they already grasp.
Towards the end of the programme I shift focus to past paper practice, exam timing, and common mark scheme traps, ensuring students are confident not just in the material but in translating that knowledge into exam performance.
