About Sarah
I am a certified writing tutor and recent graduate of MidAmerica Nazarene University, earning a Bachelor of the Arts in History in May 2018. I have tutored many college students of varying ages, ethnicities, backgrounds, and academic interests since January 2016. Many of these students have expressed their gratefulness, and several have shared how the tutoring sessions helped improve their grades.
As I was attending college myself during most of my time as a tutor, I had the opportunity to learn and progress right alongside the students I worked with. This allowed me to better understand both the student and the material, and I was able to apply what I was learning in my own assignments and classes to the tutoring sessions and vice versa. As a result, I have a good working understanding of what students struggle with in regard to writing and what teachers and professors are expecting, and I use that understanding to enhance the tutoring session.

My primary tutoring focus is English and academic writing for high school and college level students. This includes any subject and any assignment where writing and/or proper English is needed.
The tutoring sessions will be based off the student's individual needs, using the framework of the student's assignment and the teacher's instructions, and will focus on a range of things from content and organization to grammar and punctuation to formatting.
I seek to provide an experience where the student feels comfortable to open up, try new things, and be confident in the progression of his or her writing ability and style.
