About Lisa
Hello! My name's Lisa and I'm a London-based director with a passion for storytelling. After graduating from The National Film and Television School with a Master's Degree in Directing Animation, I've been fortunate enough to travel the world with my films – from London to Los Angeles and beyond. Most notably, I won a Student Academy Award, was nominated as a Sony Future Filmmaker, and shortlisted for a BAFTA. Currently, I have an animated TV show in development with the BBC, and a short film set to release on iPlayer in 2026. Alongside filmmaking, I lecture in art and animation at university level, and run regular film and animation workshops around the country.

You can have the best, most beautiful and fluid animation in the world – but if your story doesn't stand up, your audience won't care. With a Masters Degree in Directing for Animation, an Academy Award and experience lecturing at some of London's top universities, I take a hands-on approach to teaching that will have students generating ideas from day one. Suitable for students aged 16+, my class is for those looking to learn how to translate their ideas into engaging, cinematic and heartfelt stories for the screen. If you're looking to learn the specifics of animation software, this course isn't for you – but if you've worked in animation before then you'll definitely have a good starting point for this class. For everyone else, no prior experience needed – just a pencil, some paper, and the desire to learn.
