About Pierce
I have tutored organic chemistry and general chemistry at Harvard and across the west coast in various University settings. I am confident in my ability to inspire and educate my students. I am constantly striving to improve my skills and stay up-to-date with the latest educational research.
I approach each lesson with a well-prepared plan and clear goals for what my students should learn. I use a variety of teaching techniques to engage my students and help them understand complex concepts.
I am also approachable and accessible, and I make myself available to my students both inside and outside of the classroom. Whether they need extra help with a particular topic or just have a question about the material, I am always here to support them and help them succeed.
Finally, I believe in treating my students with respect and treating them as individuals, with their own unique strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles. I work to build positive relationships with each of my students, and I am dedicated to helping each one of them reach their full potential.
With my experience, expertise, and commitment to excellence, I am confident that I can help my students succeed and reach their goals.

As a teacher, my approach is to create a student-centered learning environment where my students are actively involved in the learning process. I believe that students learn best when they are given opportunities to explore and discover the concepts for themselves.
To share my knowledge in chemistry, I use a variety of methods including:
Real-world applications: I connect the topics we study in class to real-world examples and problems to make the material relevant and engaging.
Visual aids: I use diagrams, videos, animations, and other multimedia tools to help students visualize and understand complex concepts.
Group work and discussions: I encourage my students to work in groups and discuss their ideas and findings with one another. This not only helps them better understand the material but also develops their communication and collaboration skills.
Formative assessments: I regularly assess my students' understanding of the material through quizzes, class discussions, and other informal assessments. This allows me to adjust my teaching approach and provide targeted feedback to help my students improve.
By using these and other teaching methods, I aim to make learning chemistry an exciting and enjoyable experience for my students.
