About Alan
I treat my students as the individuals they are, creating lesson plans that meet their needs and interests, instilling confidence in them, motivating them to practice between lessons and inspiring them to reach their full potential.
I have had a very successful career as a recording artist, pianist, composer and producer, and I teach because I want to, not because I need to.

I make learning to read music and play the piano easy and fun, incorporating music theory so that my students learn by doing. Students are "classically trained," which means that they are given proper music in all genres, including jazz, blues and pop music. I also teach composition and have advised many of my students how to produce and publish music. In contrast to inexperienced teachers, I start my students off with one book and will provide supplemental material when needed.
