About Benjamin
Teaching the trumpet allows me to combine my passion for music with my commitment to helping students reach their full potential. Every lesson is designed to balance technical excellence with creativity and personal growth, ensuring students enjoy learning while achieving measurable progress.
I work with beginners, intermediate learners, advanced performers, and adult hobbyists, tailoring each lesson to individual goals and abilities.
Students develop strong fundamentals through breathing exercises, embouchure formation, articulation, rhythm, tone production, scales, note reading, and finger coordination before progressing to flexibility training, endurance building, range development, dynamics, phrasing, sight reading, ear training, orchestral repertoire, jazz improvisation, solo literature, and ensemble performance.
My teaching philosophy emphasises patience, positive reinforcement, and continuous encouragement, helping students become confident performers who enjoy expressing themselves through music.

My teaching approach focuses on making trumpet lessons enjoyable, productive, and inspiring for every student. Lessons begin by establishing excellent fundamentals including posture, breathing, embouchure development, articulation, rhythm, finger coordination, note reading, and tone quality.
As students gain confidence, they learn scales, flexibility exercises, endurance building, range development, phrasing, dynamics, sight reading, and expressive performance techniques. Advanced instruction includes orchestral excerpts, jazz styles, improvisation, solo performance, ensemble playing, music theory, ear training, and recital preparation.
Each lesson is supported with personalised feedback, structured practice assignments, and practical demonstrations that help students overcome challenges and achieve consistent improvement while developing a lifelong appreciation for music.
