Accordion

About Iseabail

I want to teach because music makes the world a better place, and I believe that if more people played music, the world would be a happier and richer place. Playing the accordion is so much fun, and something I am very passionate about. I am excited to share that passion and joy with other people and to help them along on their musical journey.

About the lesson

I teach both using sheet music and by ear, and usually go with how the student wants to learn. We will focus on learning a tune and go through the right-hand fingering technique, the left hand and work on putting the two hands together. I can teach music theory too. I share video recordings to help with practice and learning. Usually, 30-40 mins is an ideal time for an online lesson but I can do an hour, again depending on what the student wants. I teach people from age 7-70+. I have taught music lessons for 20 years. I have taught through various Fèisean, YMI (Youth Music Initiative) and music projects in the Highlands and in other parts of Scotland. In the past, I have worked as a practitioner and mentor for Paragon Music in Glasgow. I also work as a community musician and often play for Scottish ceilidh dancing. I play with various other musicians including my sister Ester as Ester & Iseabail's Kitchen Ceilidhs, the Breakish Ceilidh Band and others. I recently released an album of songs and my own compositions, called 'Uiseag Aiseig', Gaelic for the skylark of Ashaig. I am PVG checked and have completed child protection training, autism awareness training and inclusive music making training.
