About Eric

Hi, my name is ERIC RAMSAMY, and I hold a Bachelor of Education honors level degree in teaching and Honors Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of South Africa. I have recently retired from the public sector with strong financial and project management skills. During my teaching career, I have developed a strong foundation with regard to teaching commercial subjects at secondary school levels with special focus on Accounting as a subject. I served on the panel of Examiners at a National Level. During this time, I gained tremendous experience in helping my peers and younger educators understand complex topics in simple, relatable ways. Currently, I serve as an Assessor for STADIO HIGHER EDUCATION College where I assess prospective teachers who are completing their final year prior to receiving their teaching qualifications. I also offer private tutoring in Accounting and Business Studies, and I strive to create a supportive, engaging environment where students feel confident to ask questions and take ownership of their learning.

About the lesson

What motivates me most about tutoring is the opportunity to make a real difference in someone's academic journey. I enjoy breaking down difficult concepts and seeing that moment of clarity in a student’s eyes—it’s incredibly rewarding. In my previous roles, I’ve helped students improve not just their grades, but also their confidence and approach to learning. Whether it was preparing for exams, tackling homework challenges, or filling in knowledge gaps, I’ve tailored my tutoring style to fit each student’s unique needs.

Another attribute that I developed is seeing the progress my students make—watching someone go from frustration to mastery is genuinely fulfilling. I believe in making learning engaging, encouraging curiosity, and fostering a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.

As a tutor, I combine strong subject knowledge with a student-centred approach. I understand that every learner is different, and I adapt my methods to suit individual learning styles, pace, and goals. My previous tutoring experience has taught me how to explain complex concepts clearly, build trust with students, and help them develop independent learning skills.
