About Samia

i am an accounting and management student at university of Kent. i am pat of a huge family, one of ten children. lived in Kent my whole life, since a young age, from where i was in year 8/9 i was tutoring my younger brother for his 1 plus, and continued to do that for the rest of my four younger siblings keeping up to date with 11 plus examination trends. i completed my gcse maths a year early achieving a grade A, then continued to do a gcse in a year for further maths and statistics in year 11 achieveing a B and C. i do enjoy maths, business and economics really does interest me and i feel how i see the curriculum in a simple format, i will be able to rub the simple and logical approach for other student who struggle in maths.

About the lesson

i completely appreciate how everyone is different and we all learn in different ways, so for me it is important that my tutoring approach is tailored to individual needs with my topic coverage to be specification specific. utilising videos, text books, past papers and topic specific focus.

i start with getting to know the student, identifying key areas of focus on the specification of the exam board, doing a small pop quiz in the areas that they feel most comfortable with, just to bring the level of which they are working at into perspective. i will then formulate lesson plans for each session i see them to tackle and strengthen the areas using a scheme and resources tailored to the student. grasping the best learning technique for them. giving them exam questions to work through in their own time which is related to the topic we are studying and the topics we have studied so they maintain the practice and do not forget the vast methods taught.

practice makes perfect, it is likely that the student may not enjoys maths, however my technique is something that is patient, non patronising and direct, simplifying maths and not over complicating the methods. math is based on rules and laws and the sessions will be tailored to the students preferences to know the rules.

i was a maths tutor in year 11 for peers and younger student sitting their maths gcse so this allowed me to develop a teaching method which is relatable to peers making me approachable and understandable. students will also have access to me outside of session hours, to help with homework or queries that they are able to contact me for no extra costs.
