About Pratik

I completed my schooling in Nepal before moving to the UK in 2010, where I pursued A-levels and began my undergraduate studies in Aeronautical Engineering at Imperial College London. A research placement at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) sparked my passion for scientific inquiry, leading me to complete both an MRes and a PhD in Fluid Dynamics at Imperial. My doctoral research focused on modelling blood flow in arteries. Currently, I work as a Research Associate, where my role involves close collaboration with clinicians to investigate physiological triggers of heart attacks and to develop models of kidney function during surgery. This interdisciplinary work combines advanced mathematical concepts, computational modelling with real-world clinical insight, further deepening my commitment to impactful, applied research.

About the lesson

With a diverse educational background from both Nepal and the UK, I bring a flexible and adaptable teaching approach to suit each student’s unique needs. I am very patient and use the initial lessons to assess your strengths and areas for improvement, then tailor future sessions accordingly. My focus is on building a strong foundation in key topics, working through exam-style questions, and providing targeted homework to reinforce learning and boost confidence.

Perfect! Highly commended
Just adding to my previous review to say that my son Duncan got a grade 9 in his final GCSE exam exceeding his mock mark and his predicted graded . Pratik really helped him understand how to apply his knowledge to the higher level questions and was very patient explaining topics that he was finding harder to grasp. I would highly recommend Pratik for students who are struggling with maths as well as more able student who need an extra push to get top grades. He was punctual, pleasant and professional at all times.
