About Doris

Hello there, I'm Doris and I'm most excited to have popped up on your screen as an online English Language teacher. A bit about me! I hold a B.A in English and Literary Studies from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka; a distinction in PGDE from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, and a Master's degree (in view) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. I am an Instructor of the English Language here in Nigeria with both Nigerian and International certifications to my credit. At present, I work as an English teacher with a British school to implement its international curriculum; IMYC, and the Cambridge and Nigerian curriculum. I am an efficient professional and in the course of my ten (10) years of career, I have developed skill sets that are relevant to my position, including expertise in virtual lesson delivery for Checkpoint, IGCSE, and Nigerian examinations. Overall, I facilitate fun and great online lessons for primary and secondary school students by employing several innovative and effective teaching methods to enable my scholars to excel in examinations. To this end, I am confident that my qualifications, skills, and cross-cultural experiences in teaching both the IGCSE and IMYC equip me with the capabilities to excel in this chosen field. About the lesson

I am an enthusiastic educationist who is particularly interested and devoted to excellence in instructing and inspiring young people by employing several teaching methods like peer tutoring, differentiation, collaborative and active teaching, and a whole lot more. I employ innovative instructional strategies and materials to address the individual needs of students and also provide a student-centered learning environment that encourages resourcefulness and critical thinking while promoting tolerance, respect, and emotional security for a diverse student group. Armed with several virtual educational platforms like Edpuzzle, Bookwidgets, Google Classroom, Padlet, Redcritter, Meet, Zoom, Century Tech, Camtasia, and a whole lot more; I ensure students achieve knowledge, skills, and understanding for the checkpoint, IGCSE, and Nigerian examination.
