About William
I have taught guitar for 9 years, working with children, adults and everyone in between. I hold a Bachelor of Performing Arts, and I spent years playing acoustic gigs before teaching became my main work. Those years on stage taught me what actually matters when you play for people.
My teaching style is calm and encouraging. I never rush a student, but I never let them stall either. A woman who started at fifty-two now plays fingerstyle arrangements she once thought were beyond her.
Worship playing is close to my heart, and I have helped several students join their church teams. I also teach fingerstyle, folk accompaniment and relaxed strumming for home players. Every lesson ends with the student playing something complete.

Finger independence changes everything on the guitar. I give students short daily drills that train each finger to move on its own. The exercises feel strange for a week, then chords and picking patterns suddenly become easier.
Many of my students play in worship bands or want to. We work on steady strumming, smooth capo use and playing with a click track. One student now leads the music at his church every second Sunday.
Fingerstyle players get a different path. We build thumb independence first, then add melody on top of a moving bass. Simple arrangements come before complex ones, always.
My lessons suit busy people. I design twenty minute practice routines that actually fit into real life. Small daily practice beats one long session every time.
