About Almeda
10 years of gigging have refined my approach to scales and modes, acoustic technique, and improvisation. Teaching students how to bridge the gap between technical practice and real-world performance is where I spend most of my time. My BFA from Belmont University gave me the theory foundation, but the local bars taught me how to actually play through power chords, ear training, and rhythm guitar.
Reading tabs and handling tuning and maintenance are just parts of the job for a working musician. I focus on grade exam prep and music theory to ensure the basics stay locked in. Being an Austin mentor means I keep things practical because I know how it feels to stand under a hot stage light. I enjoy seeing students finally get comfortable with their gear.

Real music happens when you stop worrying about perfection and start focusing on the room. Imagine being able to walk into a venue and deliver a solid 20 minute set without breaking a sweat.
My approach centers on getting you stage ready by treating every practice as a performance opportunity. We will look at your progress through a monthly recorded review to track your actual development.
You can expect me to keep things grounded, steady, and simple. My teaching style focuses on making the work feel like playing rather than a chore.
Belmont trained me to be thorough, so I bring that same structural rigor to every hour we spend together. You will leave with an 8.0 level of confidence in your setlist. I promise to keep the feedback honest and the atmosphere relaxed while we refine your sound.
