About Meliti
I am an upcoming dance teacher/choreographer and performer with fresh and innovative teaching values and principles. I am originally from Greece and began my professional dance path when I enrolled in the Dance Education program at Wagner College, NY, from where I received my Bachelor’s of Science in
Dance Education and Psychology with summa cum laude and
with a full athletic and academic scholarship. This was where
I got introduced for the first time to American Jazz style
and significantly improved my skills in Ballet, Modern and Contemporary dance and Jazz. I also had the opportunity to emerge deeply in the history of dance genres, across the
globe, dance’s social aspects and dance’s significance for one’s self.
During the completion of my studies, I had numerous teaching, choreographic and performing opportunities. I completed a
4-month internship as a Teaching Artist at Mark Morris Dance Group after which I attained a part time job at the Dance Center as an Assistant Teaching Artist. Additionally, I choreographed and performed my piece named “Natural Selection” as part of the “Choreography Originals” directed by the Arts Department of Wagner College.
Finally, in collaboration with my dance partner I choreographed and performed for “Dancing
With The Stars” conducted by Wagner College where I and my partner placed third.
After the completion of my Bachelor’s degree I became a
full-time dance instructor for Arthur Murray Dance Center where I teach Latin and
Ballroom dances, and a part-time instructor for Mark Morris Dance Group.

As we know, we all learn in different ways. When it comes to dance, some learn by watching their instructor move, some by doing the movement with me while some others by just listening to the description of the movement. With that being said, I aim to personalize my lesson plans and the ways I impart dancing/movement knowledge based on each student, their goals, needs and of course, the learning method they respond better at. The tailoring of my lesson plans includes age, level, and personal goals, meaning everyone is welcome to reach out and seek dance lessons!

Perfect! Meliti is a fantastic salsa teacher! She does a great job breaking down and explaining the steps in a very beginner friendly manner which helps to boost your confidence as you approach new steps. Highly recommend her if you are looking to begin your journey in salsa - can’t say enough positive things about her!
