About Sean
I'm Sean, 18, from Offaly, and I've just come out the other side of the Leaving Cert myself — Math, Physics, Biology and Computer Science included, so I know first-hand what the last two years of grinding through past papers actually feels like. I'm heading into Actuarial Science this September, which is about as math-heavy as college courses get, so numbers and problem-solving are genuinely what I enjoy, not just what I'm good at.
Outside of grinds, I work full-time over the summer in IT support, so I'm used to explaining technical things clearly to people who don't already know them — a skill that carries over well to tutoring. I'm also into speedcubing competitively, which probably says a fair bit about my patience for breaking a problem down step by step until it clicks. I'm reliable, easy to reach, and genuinely enjoy helping something finally make sense for someone.

I sat the Leaving Cert myself this June, so I'm coming at this fresh — I know exactly what the exams are actually asking for, not just the theory but how the marking scheme rewards you. I focus on Maths, Physics, Biology and Computer Science at Higher Level, and I'm starting Actuarial Science in college this September, so maths is where I'm strongest.
My approach is exam questions first, then filling in the theory wherever it's shaky, rather than reteaching a whole topic from the ground up — it's usually a faster way to see where the marks are actually being lost. Lessons run about an hour, in person or online depending on what suits. I know how stressful the Leaving Cert already is, so I try to keep sessions relaxed rather than adding pressure. Suited to 5th and 6th years working toward Higher Level, whatever your starting point.
