About Chris
Hi, I’m Chris — a science and math tutor with a background in natural sciences and years of experience turning complex ideas into clear, understandable concepts. I specialize in helping students build confidence in subjects like math, physics, and Earth science by breaking problems down step-by-step and focusing on how things work, not just what the answer is.
My professional background in data analysis and scientific modeling means I’m very comfortable with numbers, graphs, and logical reasoning. More importantly, I know how to explain these ideas in ways that make sense to different learners.
I’ve also spent three years coaching junior-high volleyball, which has strengthened my ability to mentor students, encourage growth, and motivate them to enjoy what they're doing. I believe patience, curiosity, and consistency are key to success.
Whether you’re catching up, preparing for exams, or aiming to excel, I’m here to help you feel capable and confident in STEM subjects.

I believe practical examples are the best way to gain an intuitive understanding of complex problems. Most scientific and mathematical concepts have been developed by observing natural phenomena and I like to recreate that workflow when explaining new concepts.
Let's start with understanding where you want to get and where you are right now. After the initial assessment, I would build a plan of steps and milestones for our future lessons.
I'm comfortable covering all math and science topics up to the high-school 101 path and, depending on the specific subject, should be able to successfully teach concepts in higher-level courses.
If you like my teaching philosophy, let's get in touch and see if my skills, personality, and approach are the right recipe to successfully tackle your challenges ahead!
