About Jo
I am an experienced violin instructor with 13 years of tutoring experience teaching school students, college learners, and working professionals. Music has always been a passion of mine, and I enjoy sharing that passion with students of all ages and skill levels.
My teaching philosophy focuses on creating a supportive and encouraging atmosphere where students can learn comfortably. I believe that consistency, patience, and positive feedback help students achieve their goals and enjoy the learning process.
Throughout my teaching journey, I have helped many students strengthen their technical abilities and develop confidence in their performances. One of my notable achievements has been watching students become independent musicians who continue learning with enthusiasm.
I am dedicated to making lessons engaging and meaningful while helping students develop both skill and confidence.

I follow a student-centred teaching style that values compassion, supportiveness, and clear communication. I believe every student deserves individual attention and a learning experience that encourages growth and creativity.
In violin classes, I focus on posture, bow control, intonation, rhythm, and music reading. I divide challenging concepts into simple steps and use practical exercises that help students progress comfortably.
I encourage students to communicate openly and provide regular support to help them stay motivated. Through patience and positive reinforcement, I help students gain confidence and enjoy learning.
Apart from violin, I teach music theory, ear training, sight reading, and rhythm development. These additional subjects help students become more versatile musicians.
My goal is to help students reach their musical goals while building confidence and discipline.
