About Adaryn

Hi everyone! I’m Addy. I’m a senior Biology pre-med major at Long Island University, and I’m also a captain on the Division 1 equestrian team. After graduation, I plan to go to CRNA school for anesthesia. Because I juggle a really demanding schedule between academics and athletics, I definitely understand how tough time management and staying on top of your classes can be. Honestly, those have become my biggest strengths, and I love helping other students figure out how to study efficiently and stay organized. In my free time, you can usually find me studying, working out outside of my sport, or hanging out with friends. I’ve tutored before, and it’s genuinely one of my favorite things—I love seeing someone finally understand something that once felt impossible and knowing I helped them reach that point. I’ve worked with students in high school science and math, early college classes, and even SAT prep. No matter what you’re studying, I’m here to make the hard stuff feel a little easier and a lot less stressful. I’d be honored to help out with whatever you need.

My approach as a tutor is centered on clarity, confidence, and real understanding—not memorization. I break complex topics down into simple, approachable pieces and build them back up using examples that match the student’s level, class, and learning style. I use active recall, spaced repetition, and guided problem-solving so students don’t just follow steps but understand why each step matters. I also focus on test-style thinking, helping students learn how professors expect them to approach questions. A typical lesson begins with a quick check-in on what the student is currently covering in class, followed by a targeted review of the material using diagrams, practice questions, and short explanations. We then move into guided practice where I walk through problems with them, gradually shifting responsibility to the student until they can work independently. At the end, I give a brief summary, study tips, and optional practice problems so the student leaves with a clear plan. What sets me apart is my ability to explain challenging material in a simple, relatable way—especially topics like any general biology, upper-level biology courses, algebra and geometry, foundational chemistry/physics, and even English and literature. Because I’m a current upper-level biology/pre-med student and D1 athlete, I understand exactly what these courses demand, how professors test, and how to study efficiently with a busy schedule. I bring patience, encouragement, and a positive attitude while still keeping lessons structured and productive. My lessons are ideal for high school students, some college students, and anyone who needs help understanding scientific concepts, preparing for exams, or strengthening foundational knowledge. I’m especially helpful for students who want clear explanations, accountability, and a supportive tutor who can make tough content feel manageable.
