My general strategy in teaching is to get involve students in scientific arguments as much as possible; and avoid to become merely a speaker and students just listeners. For this reason I usually start a topic by bringing some related questions and frequently give them homework and quiz to find their strength and weakness.
Teaching and researching for 30 years. Supervising 10 PhD student, 40 MS students and noticeable number of undergraduate students. Written and translated more than 10 books. Published over 100 journal papers. Have taught more than 1000 students. Collaborating with high school chemistry teachers and presenting them some complicated topics, such as entropy, molecular geometry, and laws of thermodynamics.
