About Daniella
I’m a Maths tutor, former Maths teacher and trained ADHD coach with a First Class BSc in Mathematics from Queen Mary University of London and over eight years of tutoring experience.
Over the years, I have worked with a wide range of students, including many with ADHD, autism, dyslexia and dyscalculia. I have taught Maths in a private secondary school, worked as an in-house Maths tutor at a University Technical College, and run my own GCSE Maths crash courses for three consecutive years.
Alongside my Maths teaching, I trained as an ADHD coach through ADDCA on an ICF-accredited programme and have completed around 200 hours of ADHD coaching. This gives me a particularly strong understanding of the challenges that can affect learning, such as attention, motivation, working memory, confidence and executive functioning.
My approach is warm, patient and encouraging, but I also have high standards for my students. I want them to feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions, while also learning to persevere and become more independent.
One of the things I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing a student go from saying, “I can’t do Maths,” to realising that they actually can when it is explained in a way that makes sense to them. My role is to help them understand the subject, build confidence and achieve the very best they can.
I am professional, reliable and committed to creating a positive learning environment where students feel supported, understood and able to make real progress.

My lessons are friendly, engaging and completely tailored to the individual student. There is no single way to teach Maths that works for everyone, so I adapt both the pace of the lesson and the way I explain concepts according to how each student learns best.
I particularly specialise in working with ADHD and neurodivergent students. My ADHD coaching background helps me understand that difficulties with Maths are not always simply about understanding the content. Attention, working memory, motivation, overwhelm, confidence and executive functioning can all affect how a student performs.
My approach includes:
-Breaking difficult concepts into clear, manageable steps
-Explaining the same idea in different ways to suit each student
-Using visual methods, examples and worked questions rather than relying on lengthy explanations
-Keeping lessons interactive and engaging, rather than simply talking at the student
-Regularly checking understanding rather than assuming that a student has followed
-Identifying gaps in foundational knowledge that may be making newer topics unnecessarily difficult
-Teaching exam technique, including how to show working, interpret questions and maximise method marks
-Helping students learn how to approach questions they are unsure about rather than immediately giving up
-Adapting the pace, structure and amount of repetition to the individual learner
-Building strategies that students can gradually use independently outside our lessons
Confidence is a major part of my teaching. Students who have struggled with Maths can quickly begin to believe that they are simply “bad at Maths”. I want my students to understand that a Maths grade does not define their intelligence or their future. At the same time, I encourage them to recognise what they are capable of and work towards achieving the very best result they can.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes and are taught online.
I teach secondary-school students in Years 7–11, including GCSE Maths at both Foundation and Higher level. My lessons are suitable both for students who need additional support and for those aiming to push themselves towards higher GCSE grades.
My experience and qualifications include:
First Class BSc in Mathematics – Queen Mary University of London
Over eight years of Maths tutoring experience
Experience teaching Maths in a private secondary school
Former in-house Maths tutor at a University Technical College (UTC)
Extensive experience supporting students with ADHD, autism, dyslexia and dyscalculia
ADDCA-trained ADHD Coach through an ICF-accredited training programme
Approximately 200 hours of ADHD coaching experience
Completed The Tutor Trust's tutor training programme
Creator and teacher of my own private GCSE Maths crash courses for three consecutive years
My aim is not simply to get a student through the next question. I want them to understand the Maths, build confidence, develop strategies that work for them and become increasingly able to tackle problems independently.

My daughter missed 2 years of school due to a medical condition. Daniella was very patient and encouraging and in only 12 months covered the material for she needed for her maths gcse and helped her gain the skills and knowledge to sit her exam with confidence. Daniella showed sincere interest in her student and connected on a personal level, not just as a tutor, and assisted her also with matters unrelated to maths. I would highly recommend Daniella as a tutor.
