About Michelle

I have been a swimmer since I was born as I grew up in the ocean. I have continued to advance my skills in my life, including life-saving, first-aid officer, divemaster, freediver, and ocean photography. I am also trained in mental health and first-aid, and I'm keen to work with people who need patience and kindness.

About the lesson

Basic snorkelling and water familiarity is not natural..it is learned. I'm super kind and patient with clients with no experience.
You let me know what you need.
Divemaster subcontracting available. I have PADI membership and insurance. Initially you may have many general questions about the ocean and pool life.

At what age did you start practicing this sport? Tell us about this time or moment in your life...I started swimming from the time I was born because my family were involved in competition swimming. I grew up at the local swimming club on the beachfront most weekdays and on the weekends. I became a swimming instructor and then joined the Navy. Later I started my own health business and enjoy free, diving and snorkelling with friends. I am also a PADI qualified divemaster.
What are your favourite sports; those that you practice at a high level, a simple hobby, and a sport that you'd still like to discover? ... Definitely Freediving and snorkelling. I'm very proud that I have an international ranking for AIDA Freediving competitions.
What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue this craft?... The water is so enjoyable in a tropical climate. We are surrounded by water in Australia so it is always motivating because it is so pretty.
Do you have an achievement that you're particularly proud of? ...Yes definitely AIDA3 Freediving Certification.
How have your achievements and challenges made you a better athlete? I had a number of surgeries to recover from to reach my goals. This I hope inspires my students when they are facing their own challenges.
If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose? And what questions would you ask them? ..Alexey Molchanov! I would ask him what he would like to talk about because then I will learn the most about my sport. He signed my Freediving book when I met him in Australia.
How do you help people stay motivated? I keep in touch with people and check in on their goals. I provide the motivating links in between the sessions, which is anything from pool and ocean fashions through to exercises.
What makes you a Superprof? I have been teaching since I was 12 years old and more passionate than ever. I have my own wellness business, so I understand if people are anxious or need to go slowly. Basically, I'm really patient and encouraging.
