About Alexis
I am a college student and have played the flute for 8 years. I play at an advanced level and can teach students at an elementary or intermediate level about playing, reading sheet music, and music theory. I am based in Glendale Arizona, but I am willing to go farther to tutor. Puedo hablar un poco de español si lo prefiere pero no es mi lengua materna.

I base my teaching on sound quality, air control, and differentiating tones. I begin with scales and arpegios so that students can become familiar with technical aspects of music playing. I then teach students how to read note lengths and how to identify the key in which a piece is played. I can also teach intermediate methods such as trilling or doubling tongue. All these involve a steady progression of learning music theory which will help students become better at playing, reading, and listening.
