About Lisa
Music remains the primary language I speak because I enjoy the clarity it provides. Teaching 267 students has proven that technical mastery is a byproduct of pure curiosity. After 13 years performing in NYC and on tour, I built my teaching around what actually works in an audition room.
My BMus from Berklee informs how I connect theory to the keyboard for my adult learners. I find that professional experience allows me to offer specific insights into memorization techniques and jazz improvisation. You will discover that my approach relies on calm guidance rather than rigid drills.

Clarity defines every session. I start by observing how you naturally approach the keys. Since I hold a BMus in Vocal Performance and Piano, I use the instrument as a diagnostic tool for your progress.
We navigate music theory, sight playing, and dynamics with a focus on your individual expression. For advanced learners, we refine your accompaniment skills and pop arrangements. It feels like a collaborative conversation, especially when we discuss the nuance of your favorite classical pieces.
I also provide a diagnostic playing assessment before we set a learning plan. You will leave the bench feeling much more capable than when you sat down.
