About Shamal
Outside tutoring, I'm a keen musician with Grade 8 in clarinet, saxophone and flute, and I play table tennis and cricket. I got into tutoring because I remember what it felt like when a concept finally "clicked," and I love creating that moment for others — explaining ideas intuitively, tailoring my approach to each student, and sharpening exam technique so they can perform at their best.

I achieved 4 A*s and 11 grade 9s, with 2 undergrad offers from Imperial, and I tutor Maths, Further Maths, Computer Science, and Physics. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all teaching — every student thinks differently, so I take the time to understand how you learn best and adapt my explanations accordingly, using intuition and analogy over rote memorisation so concepts actually click rather than just getting memorised. Once the understanding is there, we shift focus to exam technique: working through past papers, unpicking mark schemes, and ironing out the small mistakes that cost marks, so you walk into the exam knowing exactly what's expected and how to deliver it.
