About Medina
I am a practicing aerospace design engineer with a strong academic and professional background in mechanical and aeronautical engineering. I hold a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical and mechanical engineering and am currently pursuing both a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA. Alongside my graduate studies, I work full-time in the aerospace industry, where I apply advanced engineering principles to real-world design challenges. I bring a structured, professional, and patient approach to tutoring, with a focus on helping students build confidence and develop a deep understanding of the material. My experience in both industry and higher education allows me to explain complex concepts clearly and connect academic theory to practical applications. Students benefit from learning not only how to solve problems, but also how engineers think and approach challenges in professional environments. I am committed to maintaining a supportive and respectful learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress at their own pace. Whether a student is working to improve grades, prepare for exams, or strengthen their foundation for future engineering studies, I approach each lesson with professionalism, clarity, and dedication to their success.

My Teaching Approach
My name is Medina, and my approach as a tutor is centered on clarity, structure, and real-world application. As an aerospace design engineer with academic training in mechanical and aeronautical engineering, I focus on helping students truly understand concepts rather than memorize formulas. I adapt each lesson to the student’s learning style, academic goals, and current level, breaking down complex topics into logical, manageable steps.
I use a problem-first teaching method, where we begin with practical examples and work backward to the theory. This allows students to see why concepts matter and how they are applied, especially in engineering and physics. I emphasize conceptual understanding, step-by-step problem solving, and clear reasoning, while reinforcing good study habits and exam strategies.
Typical Lesson Structure
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previous material or homework to identify gaps in understanding. We then introduce new concepts using visual explanations, real engineering examples, and guided problem-solving. Students are encouraged to ask questions throughout the session, and we work through problems together before transitioning to independent practice. Each lesson ends with a summary of key takeaways and recommendations for continued practice.
What Sets Me Apart
What sets me apart as a tutor is my combination of industry experience and advanced academic training. I actively work as a design engineer in the aerospace industry while pursuing graduate studies, allowing me to connect theoretical material to real engineering applications. This perspective helps students understand not only how to solve problems, but how the material is used in real-world engineering environments. I also focus on building confidence and analytical thinking, skills that extend far beyond a single course.
Who My Lessons Are For
My lessons are ideal for middle school, high school, and college-level students studying math, physics, or engineering-related courses. I support students in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, physics (mechanics and fundamentals), statics, dynamics, and introductory mechanical or aerospace engineering courses. My tutoring is especially helpful for students preparing for exams, struggling with conceptual understanding, or considering careers in engineering or STEM fields.
