About Daniel
I am a professional aerospace engineer with approximately four years of experience working on spacecraft and launch-vehicle guidance, navigation and control systems. I hold an MSc in Space Science and Engineering with Distinction from University College London (UCL) and a BEng in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Manchester.
In industry, I have worked with mathematics, physics, Python, MATLAB, Simulink, control systems, navigation algorithms, Kalman filtering, data analysis and engineering simulation.
I teach: * Mathematics and further mathematics. * Physics. * Python programming. * MATLAB and Simulink. * Engineering mathematics. * Control systems. * Aerospace engineering and orbital mechanics. * Introductory artificial intelligence and scientific programming.
I can support students from secondary-school and GCSE level through A-level, undergraduate and postgraduate engineering. I teach in English or Spanish and adapt each lesson to the student’s age, experience and objectives. I particularly enjoy helping students understand difficult technical concepts intuitively before progressing to the formal mathematics and practical applications.

My lessons are structured around understanding rather than memorisation. I begin by assessing the student’s current level, objectives and preferred way of learning. I then explain each topic intuitively, using diagrams, practical examples and simple language, before introducing the formal equations or programming syntax.
During the lesson, I encourage the student to solve problems actively. Rather than immediately providing the answer, I use carefully chosen questions, hints and intermediate steps to help the student develop independent reasoning and confidence.
Depending on the subject, lessons may include: * Guided problem solving. * Visual explanations using my iPad and digital notes. * Live Python, MATLAB or Simulink demonstrations. * Exam-style exercises. * Engineering examples from real applications. * Small programming projects. * Homework and written feedback. For younger students, I make programming and science engaging through games, challenges and practical projects. For university students and professionals, I can provide more rigorous support in modelling, control, simulation, aerospace engineering and technical interview preparation.
Each lesson is personalised. Students may bring schoolwork, exam questions, coursework concepts or a specific technical topic they would like to master. I do not complete assessed work on a student’s behalf. My role is to teach the underlying concepts and help the student produce their own work confidently.
