About Flavio

I am an aerospace engineer currently working in my field for over 25 years. I have also been teaching others in some form or another for even longer. I was a tutor in college for engineering and math, I have put together and taught several training courses over my career including to international audiences, I have helped my own kids, and even coached sports. My students often praise my clear and understandable explanations as well as my patience while teaching complex, often frustrating, concepts. I love teaching because it's a way of showing gratitude for the education and experiences that I have been fortunate to receive as well as paying it forward to those who helped me along this educational journey. It gives me great satisfaction to see students overcome their barriers and become more confident in themselves as they see what they are truly capable of doing.

Are you struggling with math, or simply memorizing equations without truly understanding them? I believe the key to mastering math, is understanding the why behind the equations and methods. Schools often don't have the time to go into the details and explain where a concept is coming from. Math then becomes a boring game of memorizing some step-by-step process that you don't understand and just have a vague idea of when it's appropriate to use. That leads to the age old question, "when am I ever going to need this?". It is then very difficult to put effort into something you believe to be pointless.

I would like the opportunity to change that mindset. I will take the time to explain the logic behind the concepts, which not only makes them easier to learn but also allows you to see the connection with other concepts and even other subjects.

I hold a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, a field where a deep understanding of mathematical principles isn't just a requirement—it's the foundation for everything. I bring this real-world perspective to my tutoring, helping students from elementary school to high school move past simple memorization and toward genuine comprehension.

My Approach:
