About Pedro

My name is Pedro, I'm 24 years old and I live in Holland.
I was born in Recife, where I had most of my basic education. Then I moved to São Paulo where I built part of my roots, and finished high school in Belgium. Right after finishing high school, I took the entrance exam for the college of my dreams in the Netherlands, and today I am studying the last year of the Aerospace Engineering course at Delft University of Technology, with minors in Computer Science, and I intend to pursue a master's degree in the area of space exploration.

I am a patient, friendly person who knows how to listen to others. I enjoy helping people, which is why I have always been interested in teaching, giving advice and making others happy. Besides, I like to deal and interact with people, because I love dynamism and monotony bothers me.

I have always had an easy time in the exact sciences area, and therefore, on multiple occasions I have been part of tutoring groups in exact and language subjects in the schools where I studied, in addition to always having taken the initiative to help friends who had difficulties in these subjects. I have recently taught high school students in Brazil and Belgium in subjects such as English, French, Natural Sciences, Physics and Mathematics. Also, I am a teaching assistant in programming at my college.

I'm excited to continue teaching and improve my skills more and more.

About the lesson

Programming is a indispensable knowledge nowadays. It is a skill that provides us with many opportunities and advantages, even in areas not related to computer sciences itself, such as management, engineering, economics and accounting. When an exact science student arrives at university with prior knowledge of programming, this "difficult to start" subject becomes much easier and more comprehensive. That is why it is important to have at least an introduction to programming still in high school and even in elementary school.

I'm in my last year of Engineering with minors in Computer Science, and I still see the problem of the recurring lack of connection between teacher and student. Often, teachers cannot "go down" to the student's level to pass the content in a simple and clear way, and what should be easy, becomes absurdly difficult. It is certain that every student knows what I am talking about.

As I'm still in my last year of college and my high school memory is still very much alive, I know what students go through on their skin. I'm closer to my target audience and I can put myself in their shoes more easily. In this way, I can communicate with the student at their own level and context, identifying their strengths and weaknesses and customizing the classes to suit their needs.

Pedro é um ótimo tutor, ele me ajudou com conteúdos de matemática, física e inglês durante o período que eu estava no cursinho. Quando aprendemos em uma sala de aula, o professor não consegue dar tanta atenção para todos os alunos e as vezes o método de ensino usado não se alinha ao nível dos estudantes, e Pedro me ajudou com os conteúdos me ensinando de uma forma clara e seguindo meu nível de conhecimento, quando me faltava conteúdo para algo ele me ajudava na revisão do tal. Ele é muito paciente e muito dinâmico ao ensinar, e ele relaciona o conteúdo com o dia a dia o que ajuda muito a aprender. Eu senti que aprendi muito mais rápido com ele do que durante as aulas do cursinho, o conteúdo parecia muito mais fácil e fluído quando ele explicava.
