About Jude
I'm Jude,
I'm a final-year Aerospace Engineering student at Sheffield Hallam University. I've had a very varied educational career. Growing up in South Africa I was forced to study for my GCSEs independently and later, living in Germany; my A-Levels as well. I've always been curious and driven to teach myself new things, music, programming, 3D design, maths & physics amongst them and so I have ample experience in taking your ability from zero to hero. I also strongly believe that marks don't reflect a person's potential and some individuals just need leading in the right direction to realize they too can be scientists, engineers and whatever else.
Currently, I'm doing my bachelor's dissertation on electric rocket engines and I hope to work on spacecraft technologies. I use a high level of mathematics as well as computer science skills on a daily basis and am learning every day. Aside from that, I love talking & teaching about mathematics, physics, and the universe we live in.

Having taught myself both GCSEs and A-levels I have a deep understanding of how overwhelming subjects in maths and physics can be and how to excel through self-propelled learning as well as find a passion for the subjects in the process.
My lessons focus on three main areas:
1) Bridging gaps in understanding through explanation from several directions and contextualizing problems in a way that makes sense and is rewarding.
2) Helping students to realize the steps they need to take to improve by breaking down the process of learning and ultimately teaching them to teach themselves.
3) Referencing constantly the expectations of the exam board or curriculum you are working to and how to assess your individual progress as well as how you're going to obtain the marks you need.
