About Colby
I am an Aerospace Engineering student at Columbia Basin College, transferring to the University of Colorado-Boulder to finish that degree this upcoming August. I'm currently a tutor in my school's MESA (Math, Engineering, Science Achievement) program, where I work mostly with calculus and pre-calulus students. My teaching experience also includes private tutoring with high school algebra students, and instructing marching bands at local high schools.
I have a passion for teaching, and my goal is always to get students to a point of fully understanding the work in front of them, so they can be confident in themselves and be successful in their academic careers.

In my tutoring sessions, I focus on the approach to the concepts, and the critical thinking skills it takes to process the information given to the students. I help students build the foundation that allows them to point out what they know, what they are looking for, and what tools they have to help them solve any problem that comes at them. I typically use work the student already has, but I can create more work if needed.
My lessons are best suited for high school and college STEM majors starting their degrees.
