About Himanshi
Hi! I'm Himanshi, an MEng Aerospace Engineering student at the University of Sheffield, and I have always enjoyed understanding how and why things work. This is one of the reasons I chose to study aerospace engineering, where I get to apply mathematics, physics and problem solving to real world engineering problems.
I have 2 years of tutoring experience, including teaching A-level students while I was at school. I really enjoy tutoring because I love seeing the moment when a concept that initially seems difficult finally starts to make sense.
I would describe myself as very patient, friendly and approachable. I know that asking questions can sometimes feel intimidating, especially when you feel like you "should" already understand something, so I always want my lessons to be a comfortable space where students can ask questions, make mistakes and learn at their own pace.
My goal is not just to help you get the answer, but to help you reach the point where you can confidently say, "I understand why".

I believe the best way to learn is to develop a strong understanding of the fundamentals. My approach is centred around building a solid foundation from first principles and then using examples to show how these ideas can be applied to different types of problems. I am incredibly patient and I understand that everyone learns at a different pace. I encourage students to ask questions and will explain a concept in different ways until it makes sense.
Every lesson will be structured around the individual student. We can focus on areas they find difficult, work through questions together, strengthen their understanding of a particular topic. I also like to adapt my teaching style depending on what works best for each student.
I like to structure my lessons beforehand and the lessons will usually be around 1 hour, although the length can be adjusted depending on the subject, topic and student's needs.
My Qualifications & Experience
I am studying MEng Aerospace Engineering at the University of Sheffield, and achieved a First Class result in my first year. I achieved A* grades in Further Mathematics, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science in A levels, and have 2 years of tutoring experience providing tutoring lessons to GCSE students at my school.
I am happy to tutor students from GCSE through to A-level in Mathematics and Sciences. My aim is not just to help students get the right answer, but to help them understand why the answer is right.
